Climbing Precambrian Rocks To See Cradle Mountain
Cradle Mountain in Tasmania has complex geology, including the Precambrian basement rocks and volcanic peaks. The Precambrian rocks consist of thinly-bedded quartzite and quartz mica schists. They are crumbled, closely folded, well-cleaved and intensely jointed. The top of the mountain is made of volcanic dolerite rock. #science #education #geology
