Synth Stuff Ep. 78 - Yamaha DX7IIFD
After the classic mk1 DX7 came the DX7IID and IIFD, providing more presets, splits & layers, and a cleaner/better DAC. The IIFD added a floppy drive while the IID stuck to cartridges. Just having a stereo output in dual mode is nice for a thicker sound. Add just a bit of reverb, as I've done here with a TC M350, and off you go. Are the better converters really better, or did the less-than-perfect converters on the mk1 have a charm to them? Hmm..
