A Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) is an electronic circuit or device that transforms discrete digital data (typically binary 0s and 1s) into a continuous analog signal, such as a variable voltage or current

DAC Mechanisms
Function: It decodes binary input into a proportional analog output, often using an operational amplifier (op-amp) to sum signals.
Binary Weighted Resistor DAC: Uses a network of resistors with values weighted by powers of two to represent each bit's significance.
R-2R Ladder DAC: Utilizes a repeating network of only two resistor values (R and 2R), making it easier to manufacture with high precision.

Important factors DAC
Resolution: Determined by the number of bits; an 8-bit DAC can produce 256 (\(2^{8}\)) distinct output levels.
Sampling Rate: The maximum speed at which the DAC can accurately convert incoming digital samples into an analog signal.
Dynamic Range: The ratio between the maximum and minimum possible output signals, usually expressed in decibels (dB).

Applications
Audio Equipment: Essential for converting digital audio files (MP3, FLAC) into sound for speakers or headphones; used in smartphones, laptops, and dedicated Hi-Fi DACs.
Video Systems: Converts digital video data into analog signals for legacy display technologies.
Communication: Used in wireless base stations (4G/5G) and optical transceivers to transmit data over physical mediums.
Control Systems: Found in microcontrollers to generate specific control voltages for industrial automation and motor control.
