KFI's Kris Ankarlo observed a controlled burn in San Bernardino
A controlled burn in San Bernardino has given firefighters a chance to practice before the height of fire season. Captain Jay Dimoff says it's especially helpful for command to test tactics and communication.
"What we really got to see was the ability of our team, our emergency management team, San Bernardino Type 3 team, to work really well with our ground crews. That's not something we get to do a lot," said Dimoff.
Crews burned about 100 acres on Little Mountain to lower the possibility of a big fire later in the year.
