Memorial Day 2021 At The Eagle Point National Cemetery
Today is Memorial Day so I want to express my gratitude to the men and women who have served in the United States armed forces. Ordinarily I just step outside of my house to watch the jets flyover. This year I walked all the way to the Eagle Point National Cemetery. It is not far from where I live but I wasn't prepared for the traffic! A lot of people visit the cemetery on Memorial Day to pay their respects to the honored dead.
While I was there I made the acquaintance of someone who took a really good video of the flyover. He's going to send it to me and I'll post it. Otherwise, what I have is like two seconds of blink and you'll miss it footage, which seems to happen every single year! I can never set up the camera in the right spot or turn it on in time or get it to focus before the jets are out of frame.
Anyway I love Eagle Point for its unwavering devotion to patriotism. Its one of the reasons I'm so desperate to make it in this town. Seeing thousands of American flags fluttering in the breeze always lifts my spirits.
