7 Downscalers battle it out to crown a champion: The Corio2 tvOne 750, GBS Control, Extron Interface 240p Trick *Disqualified*, Dexx OSSC-Pro Lite De-10 addon (Mister FPGA development board), Retrotink 5x Pro, DVD iScan HDplus *Disqualified*, and the Extron Super Emotia. Each Downscaler will be scored according to their Input and Output Resolutions, Lag, Quality of Downscaling, and Picture Adjustments/Presets.
Watch to see which is the number Downscaler I recommend, and if it is the one I am using in my setup. The future is looking bright for upcoming 4K scalers, with the RetroTink 4K, OSSC Pro ( • Downscaling Chronicles 11: OSSC Pro is AMA... ) and Pixel FX Morph 4K on the horizon. I am eagerly awaiting to see if the next generation will trump their predecessors as a 240p Downscaler. Will you be picking these up for upscaling/downscaling?
