In previous videos, we saw how to install .deb packages on any distribution.
Today, we'll look at the same thing, but with .rpm packages in mind.

.deb and .rpm packages are among the most widely used, as Debian and its derivatives and rpm-based distributions (including Red Hat, OpenSuse, and Fedora, among others) are among the most widely used. Therefore, these packages are among the most common: when a developer decides to distribute their program on Linux, the most common packaging format choices are generally deb and rpm, precisely because they are the most widely used distributions.

But what if we're using another distribution?
If we use Arch Linux, for example, we have access to the AUR, but what about other distributions?
For this very reason, I decided to make this video: this way, you can download a package in rpm format and install it.

Normally, installing a package using this procedure should work without major problems, but dependency issues may arise. In this case, if the program in question doesn't start at all, we can run it from the terminal so that it tells us what's broken or missing, and if necessary, install the missing dependency.
