Wow....Wow....Wow! What a great 2017 kick off on the "Kingdom Dynamics" weekly Webinar. As Tom Tompkins Jr. and I are talking about the controversial question, "IS GOD IN CONTROL," Brother Tom brought up Genesis 1:26.
● Genesis 1:26 says, "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[a] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” When the Bible says that God gave man "DOMINION OVER" all of these things, we immediately need to consider the word dominion. Even in our natural dictionaries, they say that the word "dominion" means, sovereignty; and/or control. So, if God has given mankind the dominion over the earth and its contents, then He gave us sovereignty and control.
● David begins in Psalm 115:3 and says, "But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases." Yet the heading of this passage has been tagged with these words, "The Futility of Idols and the Trustworthiness of God." Two issues are being dealt with here. But later on in Psalm 115:16 David says, "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men." What is David talking about? He is saying that God gave mankind the dominion over the earth.
● We must understand that even the perfect path that God would like us to walk down, He does not force us to walk down. Even 1 Corinthians 13:5 in the Message Bible says that the person of Love (Jesus) does not force Himself on others. What a loving Father God who created us in His very own image, to be like Him, to act like Him and to speak for Him, yet He gave us the free will to choose.
