Greta Van Fleet formed in Michigan, in 2012. They consist of twin brothers Josh and Jake Kiska, their brother Sam Kiska, and Danny Wagner. They named their band after a woman in their town named Gretna Van Fleet.
They performed at Elton John's 2018 Academy Award party, at Elton's personal request. They jammed with him onstage. That same year, they won the Grammy for Best Rock Album.
Jake says that some of his guitar influences are John Lee Hooker, Elmore James, and Eric Clapton. Some of Josh's stage movements are influenced by Joe Cocker.
Joe Bonamassa was born in 1977, in Hartford, New York. He grew up in Utica, New York.
In 2020, he created Keeping The Blues Alive Records, an independent record label. Some of the musicians on his label include Dion, Joanna Conner, Larry McCray, and Joanne Shaw Taylor.
Bob Dylan and Pete Townshend have written liner notes for albums released by Joe's label.
Joe started playing guitar at 4 years old. His parents owned a music shop in upstate New York, now called Bonamassa Guitars.
Joe was mentored by the brilliant Danny Gatton.
In 1989, Joe opened up for B.B. King 20 times.
Joe's debut album, A New Day Yesterday, featured a guest appearance by Greg Allman.
Joe's Fueling Musicians program helped struggling musicians during the Covid pandemic.
Joe is a member of the bands Rock Candy Funk Party, and Black Country Communion.
He produced Joanne Shaw Taylor's 2022 album Blues From The Heart: Live. That album features a guest appearance by Kenny Wayne Shepard.
Dion's 2020 album Blues With Friends was produced by Joe. It spent 9 weeks at number one, on the Billboard Blues Chart. That album features guest appearances by Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Paul Simon, and Bruce Springsteen, and liner notes by Bob Dylan.
