Mangold and Jay Cocks wrote the screenplay.
Cocks co wrote Titanic and Gangs of New York. He started working on the script for Gangs of New York in 1976!
Cocks and Brian De Palma wrote part of the narrative crawl for the 1977 Star Wars movie.
Mangold directed Walk the Line, The Wolverine, and Logan.
Timothy Chalamet plays Dylan. Chalamet was born in 1995 in New York City. He grew up in Hell's Kitchen in New York City. I lived there for a while. It wasn't Hellish at all lol. I think it was bad a long long time ago. Thus the nickname.
Chalamet went to LaGuardia High School. My brother Matt McGorry also went there. That's the school from the movie Fame.
Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight inspired Chalamet to become an actor.
Chalamet went to Columbia and NYU. He lived in The Bronx for a while. He starred in two short horror films: Sweet Tooth and Clown.
Ellie Fanning plays a character based on Suze Rotolo. Many of Dylan's early songs were written about Suze.
Fanning stars in the upcoming film Predator: Badlands. That's the eighth Predator film.
Edward Norton plays Pete Seeger. Norton played Bruce Banner in the awesome 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk.
Monica Barbaro plays Joan Baez. Barbaro was in Top Gun: Maverick, and she was on 4 eps of the TV show Stumptown, which was based on a great comic book series.
Scott McNairy plays Woody Guthrie. McNairy was in Monsters and Batman Versus Superman.
Michael Chernus plays Dave Van Ronk. Chernus played Tinkerer in Spiderman: Homecoming, and he was on the TV show Orange is the New Black. My brother Matt was one of the stars of that show.
Dave Van Ronk's autobiography was part of the inspiration for the Coen Brothers movie Inside Llewyn Davis.
Boyd Holbrook plays Johnny Cash. He played Donald Pierce in Logan.
