Built in 1977 in Pasadena, this 1,600-square-foot home reflects a shift from glass-heavy mid-century modernism toward a more grounded, energy-conscious architecture. With a symmetrical layout centered around a tiled walkway, the home balances geometry and organic form while seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor living.
From Judy Jensen’s custom stained glass doors to floating ceilings created by continuous skylights, every detail serves a purpose. Natural materials like redwood, teak, stucco, and glass create a warm, cohesive palette that reflects both the environment and the architect’s philosophy.
The home also reveals how architecture evolves over time—through restoration, stewardship, and lived experience—while maintaining its original spirit.
