Check out these amazing amphibians. Herping season is here and the vernal pools are filled with the chorus of wood frogs and spring peepers. Frogs are breeding by the thousands and salamanders are a common sight now, too. Woodfrogs (Lithobates sylvaticus) are some of the first amphibians to hit the vernal pools each year. They have an antifreeze wich allows them to start mating early. What do they sound like? Well, watch this video and find out. There are frogs in amplexus and soon, they will be laying their eggs. Winter is almost over and the woodfrogs and spring peepers are in full swing!
