My Favourite 35mm SLR - Canon New F1
Canon's top-of-the-line professional 35mm SLR, Final version of the popular F1 series, Peter Parker's Camera, need I say more?
This isn't an in-depth review. I just love this camera and I think one of its most important features is its hybrid shutter system. Other similar cameras like the Nikon F3, only shoot mechanically on one other speed [1/60s iirc].
With mechanical speeds from 1/90-1/2000, no battery no problem (more or less). But on the beach day, I really forgot to bring the F1's 6V battery, but luckily there was no need for it. Of course, the previous versions of the F1 are fully mechanical, and tbh, that's my preference as well.
But the new F1 is filled with crazy features like Aperture priority and Shutter Priority (when you have the motor drive attached). It was only discontinued in 94' but it received factory support from Canon all the way till 04'.
