If you see the warning saying “Start-stop Support Battery Service Required” in your Volvo, it refers to the auxiliary 12V battery that’s responsible for the start-stop function. The battery has low voltage and you start-stop feature will not be working at this point.
The best solution for your pocket is to charge the aux battery with the AGM-compatible external charger. Also, you may just replace this battery which is not that big and not that expensive. But charging may solve the problem for several more years, so I would go for it first.
In this video, I will show you the location of the aux battery for several models. And I will also tell you more about the aux battery problem and what you can try doing. If you want to share your experience, please write a comment for this video!
