From just before sunrise to the moment the sun is in full view, I explore a Missouri wetland with the Canon R5 through dusk, fog, and finally the golden hour, with #Bald Eagles, #White-tailedDeer, #Egrets, #Herons, #WoodDucks, a #Raccoon, a #GreatHornedOwl and other birds. I run into a lot of nature photographers arriving when I am leaving and often I hear things like, I have to wait until the light is good, and I think one of the biggest mistakes I used to make was always trying to expose my photos and videos so that they were all bright and detailed. As I get better at this I find that by intentionally underexposing sometimes to make my photo or video look more exactly as I saw it enables me to start well before sunrise and subsequently see a lot more. A histogram is a guide and you don't want to always have the perfect arc. Don't get too hung up on your histogram and venture into that 3200 to 6400 ISO range, you will be pleasantly surprised with what you get. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Thank you all very much, I really appreciate it.
