Self confidence can be affected in our menopause. As out skin condition changes through the journey it is certainly worth taking note of how to prevent our skin from feeling rough, dry and flakey.

During menopause, levels of the hormone called estrogen begin to decline.

Estrogen is important for skin health. It helps the skin to stay moisturised by stimulating the production of natural oils and collagen. Collagen is a protein that maintains the strength and elasticity of skin.

A decrease in natural oils and collagen can cause the skin to become drier and thinner than it was before menopause, which can make it feel itchy.

In order to slow down the dehydration of your skin try these top tips:
1 - Always consult your GP as a priority.
2 - Oatmeal bath
3 - Topical products - a good moisturiser
4 - Vitamin C - a stabilised vitamin C for your face - or a vitamin C supplement
5 - Herbal supplements
6 - HRT, BHRT, Body identical hormones
