Passion Flower (कृष्ण कमळ|) and it's significance..
Passion Flower - क्रुष्ण कमऴ ||
Passiflora, known also as the passion flowers or passion vines, is a genus of about 550 species of flowering plants.
The flower is pentamerous and ripens into an fruit with numerous #seeds which I came to know when as an experiment I kept a passion fruit from a Red Passonflower plant in a pot for over a month and kept watering it every other day. What I expected to have a single passion vine emerge out of that #fruit as I thought it may have a single seed, but to my surprise, hundreds of small #passionvines emerged out of the fruit and that's how i knew that it has numerous seeds.
So now I have two varieties of #PassionFlower growing in my garden.
1. Passiflora racemosa - Red Passion Flower
2. Passiflora Lady margaret - Purple in colour.
