AEE462 Lecture 2, Part A - The N-body Problem and Physical Invariants
In this lecture, we provide a detailed description of the dynamics of the N-body problem using Newton's model universal gravitation and second law of motion. We extend to the N-body problem the concepts of center of mass, linear and angular momentum, and potential and kinetic energy. We further show that conservation of linear momentum, angular momentum and energy in this framework are a natural consequence of Newton's 3rd law.
