In this video Polaris 29 | Tainan Dalpra - v Tarik Hopstock - Getting Submitted by your own move disrespectful? I discuss the amazing passing game of Tainan Dalpra and dive into if it is an honor or disrespectful to be submitted by a move you created.
I've been a Brown Belt since 2022 and also moved back to Missouri to continue my training. I will be brining Rolling/Sparring Video Breakdowns to the channel on a regular basis so stay tuned for more! I'm always looking to improve and what better way to do that than to post my rolls on the internet for people to watch and dissect. What could go wrong? lol
In this Polaris 29 | Tainan Dalpra - v Tarik Hopstock - Getting Submitted by your own move disrespectful? I describe Dalpra was able to pass the guard of Tarik utilizing key staples found in the AOJ system. Those being the leg drag, pressure and footwork and side to side passing. In the video Tarik was able to pull guard but Dalpra was able to force him into half guard and from there pass the guard.
Tarik had a good showing with the reverse closed guard but I highlighted the problem with the guard which happens to be once someone puts heavy pressure on you and the position is lost the entire position falls apart and you are left out of position and easily passed.
Notice how Dalpra uses leg pinning and footwork to pass the guard of Tarik and once passed immediately adds pressure by using the knee on belly position.
If this is a series you want to see more of OR this format is one you enjoy more than how I previously made videos please leave a like on the video and a comment in the comment section so I know! I really hope that people can take away some of the principles of guard passing from watching and try to implement them into their game when dealing with tough guards! If you have any comments leave them in the comment section and think about subscribing to the channel and hitting the notification bell so you don't miss out on any of my videos.
I hope you guys like the video and strive to be 1% better everyday! Thanks for watching! Peace!
