Hallo Everyone, In this Video I will be showing most crucial formatting keyboard shortcuts when using Microsoft Word. These shortcuts are designed to help you work faster and more efficiently with your document.
Most of the time, we use the mouse to select commands from a menu or toolbar. But using keyboard shortcuts can save you time and effort.
Some of these keyboard shortcuts may be familiar to you, while others might not be as well known to you. It’s my hope that by the end of this video, you will have a better understanding of how to use these keyboard shortcuts in order to get your work done faster and more efficiently.
1.CTRL+I– this will italicize your selected text, so first we select the text that we want to italicize, to do that we click where we want our text to start and hold Shift key and click where we want the text to end my text is now selected. Then u just hold CTRL key and tap I and your selected text will now be italicized
2. CTRL+B – this will bold your selected text, so first we select the text that we want to bold, to do that we click where we want our text to start and hold Shift key and click where we want the text to end my text is now selected. Then u just hold CTRL key and tap B and your selected text will now be bolded.

3. CTRL+U– this will underline your selected text, so first we select the text that we want to italicize, to do that we click where we want our text to start and hold Shift key and click where we want the text to end my text is now selected. Then u just hold CTRL key and tap U and your selected text will now be underlined.
4. CTRL+R– this will allow us to align the paragraph to the right of the text area, click anywhere in the paragraph and hold ctrl then tap on R. to align the paragraph to the left to the Centre hold crtl the tap on E, to left hold crtl the tap on L, to justify the paragraph hold crtl the tap on J and that means the text and the lines spacing is okay.
5. CTRL+SHIFT– this can be used to increase / reduce the font size of Selected area, so first we select the text that we want to increase the font size, then you just hold CTRL key and shift and start taping on the greater than sign on your keyboard to increase or tap on less than sign to decrease the font. Then you have the font you are looking for.
Now lets say you want to copy this formatting you have to some other text. This now brings us to the next formatting shortcut key
6. CTRL+SHIFT+C- this will apply the font size of the selected text from the previous Font size. Just hold CTRL+SHIFT then tap on C to copy .the go where you to apply and select your text then click CTRL+SHIFT+V. note this only changes the text and does not paste
The final formatting shortcut that I want you to be aware of is how How to reveal or hide formatting marks in Microsoft Word. Occasionally, when using Microsoft Word, you can find yourself in a situation where you've applied a lot of formatting and are unsure of why your text looks a specific way. You can display the formatting marks if that ever occurs or if you need to examine how your document is being formatted. So what you do you hold
7. CTRL+SHIFT+ asterisk symbol- this will show the formatting marks, i.e. the spaces and the new paragraphs. After you are done checking the formatting to hide the marks just press CTRL+SHIFT+ asterisk symbol once again.
By Continuous use of these well-designed shortcut keys while formatting your Microsoft word document will save you time and effort and eventually you will become more faster while doing your work.
