Fibroblasts were isolated from the subcutaneous tissue of wildtype mice. Following fixation and permeabilization cells were immunostained for the myofibroblast marker α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA, red), intracellular and extracellular collagen I (yellow), F-actin (phalloidin, blue), and DNA (DAPI, white).
