Nighttime in State of Decay 2 is a different world, and Episode 2 drops us straight into the danger zone. After curing one survivor of the Blood Plague, we head back into the dark to gather the supplies we desperately need: food, ammo, and especially meds, which are draining faster than we can replace them.
What starts as a simple task spirals into chaos. We snipe a screamer, stumble into a lurking fat zombie, and suddenly half the neighborhood is on top of us. Cardio maxes out. Ammo drains. Every corner feels like it hides another runner.
But the risk pays off.
We secure the gas station, loot multiple rucksacks, and climb a billboard to scout the entire region, unlocking military stores, supply depots, and an urgent care clinic we desperately need. As the night deepens, we push our luck even further, diving into a contaminated military site filled with gear, weapons, and a massive horde guarding it.
Somehow, we clear it.
Somehow, we survive.
And when we claim it as an outpost, everything changes: ammo income, storage, scouting, switching characters, salvaging equipment, a fully functional forward base in enemy territory.
The rest of the episode becomes a sprint to stay alive while overloaded, exhausted, and stumbling through the dark with a rucksack dragging down our stamina. We barely make it back, but we end the episode equipped, supplied, and ready to expand.
Next time… we go after meds. Or the meds go after us.
