Things spiral fast in this episode of State of Decay 2. What begins as a simple resource run turns into a scramble for survival as food shortages, plague territory, and a sudden plague fever scare start stacking on top of each other. Our community is losing meds and food every single day, we’re scavenging whatever we can, and the moment we step into plague territory, the risk skyrockets.
A crossbow test goes horribly wrong when the bolts shoot straight through every zombie we hit, vanishing into the distance and leaving us effectively unarmed. Meanwhile, plague samples are suddenly everywhere, and the fever meter starts creeping up. We help our neighbors, earn new allies, find multiple food rucksacks, and even get the biggest backpack upgrade we’ve seen so far… but the threats keep building.
The biggest moment of the episode is the looming choice:
Do we attack the plague heart?
The game warns us repeatedly. Our survivor is fragile, low-skill, barely armed, and crossbow reliability is in shambles. But the pressure is real, the plague is spreading across the region, and ignoring it won’t make it go away.
Between unexpected medical supplies found in a disgusting bathroom, a surprise high-tier rifle from an Army/Navy store, and the realization that circuit scraps are going to bottleneck our entire upgrade path, the episode becomes a tense push-and-pull between gearing up and staying alive.
By the end, we’ve secured multiple outposts, switched survivors, improved cardio and combat skills, and formed a clearer path forward. But the plague heart is waiting, and the next decision is going to be a big one.
