DIRECTION TO TURN OFF TAP - CLOCKWISE
The standard direction to TURN ON on the tap or faucet is ANTICLOCKWISE.
If you wish to TURN OFF or CLOSE the tap or faucet, the direction is CLOCKWISE.
This is also applicable to most jars, water bottles, containers, etc. So the next time if you forget, you can try turning the cap of your mineral water bottle…. it should be the same direction unless your tap is ‘special’*
To many, it may be common sense or a no brainer, something that we tend to assume that everyone knows. But it is not always the case. Because I had an experience once where I got the wrong direction during a water disruption that happened at night. When I got up, the water supply had resumed and water was running for hours, almost flooding my bathroom. So hopefully this video help because surprisingly, I could not find the answer so thought of doing a video to answer this simple question.
