The following FAQs are based on my experience in caring for my mother who had a tracheostomy done in October 2023. I REGRET not having the procedure done earlier for my mom. It would have saved her years of suffering, with in and out of hospital and hospitalization due to recurring lung infection and pneunomia. After the tracheostomy is done, my mom looked so much more at ease and the phlegm can easily be suctioned out.
