In theory, we would require at least 2 persons to change the bedsheets of a bedridden person (with them still lying on the bed). In hospitals, it is the practice to change the bedsheets by 2 nurses.
However, in long term caregiving at home, there is usually only one caregiver available at one time hence many caregivers would learn to manage the task alone. Through oberving how the nurses do it when my mom is being hospitalized, and through trial and error, I've learned to change the bedsheets for my mom by myself .....but I always do it carefully and with the railings of her bed up especially on the side I am turning her towards.
In this video, I share my own experience on how to do and two bonus tips on how to minimize bed soiling.
