Shooting at 16000 frames per second. We captured this bumble bee right outside our office in the white rhododendrons. Bumblebees are common native bees and important pollinators of wildflowers in most areas of North America. This small creature can generate heat with their flight muscles from wings moving around 200 times a second. Only using natural sunlight, the high light sensitive Photron Nova S16 and our Infinity K2 DistaMax Long Distance Microscope we were able to capture the amazing details and motion in the wings.
Record Rate: 16,000 frames per second
Shutter Speed: 60. 7 usec
