Chipping Sparrow landing at 3000 fps
Shot at 3000 frames per second, a chipping Sparrow landing on the feeder using Photron Fastcam Nova S12 high speed camera. Software Image Trigger in PFV4 can detect the change in an image from the live image being displayed and applying a trigger. Specify the change detection method and when the desired threshold value is exceeded the trigger is applied and recording starts.
Setting a specified area just above the landing spot, the software can take a background image and notice when there is a change in the image sending a trigger signal.
Using a 25/75 pre/post trigger, we captured the moment just before the bird lands!
Record Rate: 3000 frames per second
Shutter Speed: 1/14600 of a second
