Land Navigation part 1 (Team U.N.M.R.F. - falco solaris)
Understanding the basics, and witnessing what a long distance trail on mountains looks like.

A video series about navigating through any terrain, anyhow, anyway! This is now entering into military knowledge, so I am diving deeper into what we are doing even if it seems normal and simple. It's time to be uncens0red. There are concealed ways of training in plain sight. No need to be loud. Treat a normal hiking as an operation. Use your map and plan a trail. Break it into smaller objectives and EXPLORE YOUR SURROUNDINGS.

This time we are crossing a 10 miles (16 kilometers) trail through a mountain range. The main goal of this video is to show how it looks like to walk fast such a distance. Bear in mind (not an actual bear foo!) that 10 miles is the MINIMUM! It's nothing. You may be required to do much more... and yet... it is A LOT! The blue horizon comes in front of you, and then it becomes again a blue horizon, but behind you. The sooner you train yourself to not mind such mind tricks, the better. That's another thing. You CAN do these things. What stops you is mainly your own mind. Our minds are our main obstacles. Always discouraging us from doing "risky - difficult things". While others want to reach a "zen mind", OUR little gang here needs to achieve the mighty "Marine rifleman senior Lance Corporal" mind. YOLO in other words XD , just do it bruh. Craving that "something more" comes after succeeding achievement after achievement. But it needs a clear dream. A certain goal in the future. A determination that fuels your every struggle. This material world around us, becomes very immaterial and flexible when the spirit thinks outside of the box. In lowly peasant words : nothing is impossible.

The pace is really fast compared to any normal walk on the streets. It is barely not running. This is the goal you aim to reach. It comes with hard training. But it is a movement that actually saves energy because it has flow. It is much more exhausting to lose time on the road instead of reaching your objective with dexterity. But don't be discouraged. If you read everyone's t-shirts in the video, you'll see that everyone here has done marathons. The environment plays a major role too. Except from the starting point, the rest of the trail had no shade whatsoever. The summertime sun baked us completely. That's why you need to be careful about how much water you are carrying on you. You know the trail beforehand and you prepare to meet the unexpected.

About the video's topic though, as you can see, we are not dressed in camies or any gear. It is important to know how to navigate without any special technology. First of all, because civilians can't afford a thermal or night vision without going fully broke. These trainings are for those who can't rely on technology. Use the best available tool. Your own body... CORRECTLY. To prove you that you can, I included a clip of me at the end of the video, running at night in the forest on a rocky trail. The rest of my points are included within the video. So... enjoy!

Special thanks to everyone involved in the making of this video, especially our scout : Andrew Liosis.
