Our team continues training non stop to be fully in shape when the call comes. This time we were at an altitude of 2400 meters / 7874 feet high up. We spent two days up into the mountains and did a lot of archery, survival, hiking and running. It was a complete drill to raise our overall fighting skill.
The first day, we drove all the way there, into the forest high up in the mountains. Our party set camp and continued with lots and lots of archery fun. We aimed at each other from a decent distance and our goal was... well... obviously to be able and hit a human shaped and sized target at such a distance. Secondly, to grab or deflect the incoming arrow. If it's not possible... then evade it and be saved. First we risked it and used normal arrows. But then I decided to use tape and nerf down the arrowhead. It would still injure anyone getting hit by it, but we wouldn't die. So the right amount of risk was present to awaken our warrior spirits. Combat archery is the best experience for military use of a bow.
We continued the day with only a few miles of hiking to explore our surroundings. Our bows served as walking poles (Special bow recipe yo...). Soon after, the sun started setting. So we rushed back to our camping site. There, our tents and sleeping bags were waiting for us, but first... FOOD!
It was dark and we sat in a circle around our cooking stuff, as humans have done for countless ages on earth. This is where the deepest conversations happen. This is when friends bond the most. We get to know each other in a much deeper and unfiltered way. It was 40 Fahrenheit (4 Celsius) so we didn't stay out for too long. We got in our sleeping holes and tried to find some rest. A difficult day awaits us tomorrow.
We survived the night with our lightweight equipment and drove to the start of our aimed trail. Once again, the path was going up and up and up. Until all other mountains in the horizon looked like tiny hills in comparison. Except from one... it stood as tall as this one. And it is going to be the topic of an upcoming upload. It was the hardest hiking I have ever done. But back on today's summit. What goes up, also goes down. Run my bros, RUN! Running back is run even if it is exhausting. All of the above are raising all of our skills and makes us work better and better as a team. To what end? You'll see.
