Computer Graphics
Computer graphics are visual representations of data, made with the help of a computer. Computer graphics can be a series of images (video or animation) or a single image.
Computer graphics are very useful. Computer-generated imagery is used for movie making, video games, photo editing, design for advertising, and more.
Some people see computer graphics as art.
There are two basic types of computer graphics: bitmap and vector. Bitmap graphics are graphics that store and display digital images as a series of dots that are arranged in columns and rows. These dots are called pixels. The term "pixel" is actually short for "Picture Element.”
Vector graphics, on the other hand, are graphics made up of points, lines, and curves that can be individually manipulated. This means that no matter how large or small or how close you zoom in on the image, the lines, curves, and points remain smooth.
Graphic images are stored digitally using a small number of standardized graphic file formats, including BMP, TIFF, GIF, JPEG or JPG, and PNG.
BMP (Bitmap) file extension: .bmp
It can be used as Wallpaper and has a huge file size. TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) file extensions: .tif, .tiff It is used for storing bitmapped images on personal computers.
GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) file extensions: .gif
It is used for logos, headings, buttons, text, simple diagrams, cartoons and others with side colors.
JPEG or JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) file extensions: .jpg, .jpeg It is a popular image file format and is used for photographic images that require relatively small file sizes.
PNG (Portable Network Graphic) file extension: .png It can be small in file size that doesn’t lose its quality, and it can support all types of images.
