MATH03L02: Comparing and Ordering Whole Numbers
Arranging numbers
You’ll have to compare numbers in the set pair by pair.
Identify first the smallest and the largest numbers. Then from the remaining
numbers, get the next smallest and next greatest.
Ascending order: from the smallest to the greatest
Descending order: from the greatest to the least
Examples
Arrange these numbers in ascending order: 35 908 5 908 37 098 8 908
Pick out the smallest and the largest digits:
5 908 37 098
