2 RED-BREASTED PARAKEETS Chicks Nesting with extra Babysitters keeping watch
Another view of this charming Red- breasted Parakeet nesting. While the two little juveniles were being fed, they were being guarded as well, by other parakeets milling around the nest. These birds are pretty social & the flock seemed to gather protectively around these two precious chicks, too close perhaps, much to the chagrin of the parents, as seen in this video!😊
Red-breasted Parakeets are an introduced species to Singapore. The population has been thriving well, as they seem pretty adaptable to urban settings in Singapore. This family of Parakeets were nesting right by a busy avenue.
