Welcome to this video tutorial on Timer Off Delay TOF

You will learn how to how configure, test, monitor and how to reset a TOF timer with a practical use case. Start creating a new RUNG and a TOF instruction and create the tag for the instruction with the datatype: timer, for further reference you can also add a description about the timer purpose, that plays a key role when designing a new project. Documentation can save hours of troubleshooting in the future.

Welcome to this video tutorial on Timer Off Delay TOF Today you will learn how to how configure, test, monitor and also how to reset a tof timer with a practical use case Start creating a new RUNG and a TOF instruction, then create the tag for the instruction with the datatype: timer You can create by typing the name, right click, new tag, create for further reference you can also add a description about the timer purpose That plays a key role when designing a new project Documentation can save hours of troubleshooting in the future Then set the timer to 10 seconds that is 10000 miliseconds With tag the bit for enabling the timer is required Let's create a bool tag for this task, that will set and reset the tof timer Approve the changes And lets test the timer, by setting the bit to 1 Notice that the timer does not start to count yet, after to set the bit to 0 the timer start counting, verify that the DN bit remains in in 1 during the counting and goes to zero after the timer is complete If we set the enable bit to 1 and back to 0 the timer starts counting back again Until it completes again By right clicking to the TOF timer tag, monitoring the tag shows up all the internal tags values. That illustrates the internal values in a given point, for maintenance purposes for example On the instruction help page is possible to check all the information about the TOF Such as the available languages, operands, and structure Same as each internal bit For a sample application we can consider a fan motor bit that needs to be on for 10 seconds We will create the fan activation bit and tie to the timer DN So when the timer is active ( for 10 seconds ) the fan will be activated as well.
