Hello and welcome today we will show how to back up FactoryTalk View applications right here we have a FactoryTalk View application that we are planning to backup the name is on the top left and we have all the configuration for data server alarms server and HMI screens We will back up this application But why is this important? When you are designing a project you need to backup the application daily so you won't lose any design efforts, Then if you work the whole day in application it's good to keep the backups saved and stored in a different place because if you lose a virtual machine or a server you won't lose any progress Also it's good when you have a system up and running keep track on the latest backups and changes on the application so you won't lose changes if you have a disaster Thus let's dive into it and backup up this application it's always stored in the same file path into the windows file so normal is C: - user - public - public documents - RSView enterprise Open the HMI projects you have the this file here, this basically is your application folder on FactoryTalk Site Edition and you want to back up all these folders using the right tool is called HMI Server backup and restore this tool, right here makes a copy of this file structure into a folder for example this tool is used to restore a backup or to make a application backup We will start by clicking on backup and choose the application, here and select the .sed file this is the main folder that's the required file extension I will choose desktop folder and start the backup process to the desktop Right now the backup is complete, let's check in the desktop we do have this folder right here just created all the file structure saved is the same structure as we saw before so this is the way to back up your FTView SE applications into the FactoryTalk View SE, the process is the same for restoring an application if you need to restore you can choose for example desktop same application .sed file you can restore into the same file structure presented Extra tip: keep the backup in a separated media as an additional layer of relaiability If the video was useful for you let us know in the comments Thanks and subscribe for more similar videos!
