Demonstration of importing a KML flight path from ADSB exchange into the CloudRF web interface to model radio coverage.

Communications is easy for aircraft at altitude using VHF but challenging for drones / sUAS using telemetry links on UHF frequencies closer to the ground.

In the demo, a KML is imported into the "route analysis" tool. The route is displayed in 3D and tested for communications to a ground station such as a tower or for UAS, a Ground Control Station (GCS).

The versatile tool can be used to test VHF, RADAR, Telemetry and data links and can model antenna patterns in three dimensions so overhead nulls can be simulated. It's useful for planning but also post-incident analysis, and education, as drones are often lost due to a lack of planning.

Supported file types include KML, KMZ and CSV. Both OGC and GX KML extensions are supported.
