Revit Camera Views and Usage by Joseph Buro at Staten Island Technical HS (R0018)

Cameras are very useful in Revit, but not just for showcasing the project. In addition to using them to produce renderings or aesthetic views, I encourage you to use them to give you a quick and easily manipulated view of an area in your project environment that may not be easy to see from a traditional view. Also sometimes you need to see a person's point of view to decide if your space is appropriately designed and arranged.
To use a camera you go to the View tab on the Ribbon and select Camera, which is typically found nested with the standard 3D view and the lackluster Walkthrough feature. You then place the Camera at the point of view and then select its focal point. At first these are at the same height but the height of the POV and focal point can be adjusted. Use the Navigation wheel use Orbit to move around the focal point, Look to aim the POV at a new focal point, Up/Down to adjust the height of the POV, Walk to adjust the position of the POV as if walking, PAN to slide the position left/right, and Rewind to review spots. Cameras are saved as 3d views and images can be saved as well.
