Once transitioning to multi-story design in Revit you need to be able to create stairs that look like they are built correctly and can function as a showpiece of an area, rather than just a transition from one level to the next. There is a powerful automatic start tool that allows you to sketch a stair run that can be straight, arc shaped, or circular as a spiral staircase. There are L and U shaped stair tools as well, but they do not function the way most designers envision the shape. I show how to use the other stair tools and landings to create runs of a few different shapes and styles.

Stairs that go through ceilings and floors also come with the steps of making the cuts clean and adding short walls to make transitions work, you will see that for a straight run and an spiral staircase.

Lastly I will show how to place railings to make staircases and ledges safer, with the added bonus of making the atmosphere a little more classy with the railing styles. You will find what you need here.
