Staten Island Technical High School Open House 2021 - Technology Department
This is a video showcasing the current set of courses as well as supplemental programs offered to all the students of Staten Island Technical High School, part of the NYC public school system as a Specialized High School of NYC.
We offer many different pathways to our students, not just STEM related. Though, it is the purpose of the Technology department to expose students to the many different options in STEM related fields, especially some they probably never knew of before attending SI Tech.
Our main courses are Engineering and Robotics, TV Studio Production, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Science featuring Cyber Security - Coding and App Development - Web Development - Hacking - Computer Engineering - Network Infrastructure - etc, Career Skills and Talknology (the art of communicating professionally), Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Business Entrepreneurship, and more.
We have state of the art computer labs for most of our classes, a cutting edge TV studio and control room, 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC routers, wood and metal shop devices, hands-on tools, a solar car, wind turbine, and many other features of the department.
Our Tech department also houses a makerspace for doing projects of all types, and a career development center for understanding what the next steps should be for students at SI Tech.
