predicate.
LESSON PROPER
SUBJECT is what (or whom) the sentence is about. The subject of a sentence is the person, place, thing, or idea that is doing or being something.
SIMPLE SUBJECT - the main word or group of words that tell who or what the sentence is about, not including any modifiers
COMPLETE SUBJECT - consists of the main word and all the other words
describing the simple subject
PREDICATE tells us something about the subject.
SIMPLE PREDICATE - the main verb in the predicate that tells what the subject does
COMPLETE PREDICATE - consists of the main verb, plus, the word or words
following it
