Simple DIY repair of a single-chamber refrigerator, called Saratov. It often happens that the refrigerator, or rather the motor-compressor, simply doesn't start, while the light inside the refrigerator is on. First, check the thermostat. To do this, disconnect the two contacts from the thermostat and short them together. If the motor starts, then the thermostat is 100% to blame for the refrigerator malfunction. Older refrigerators also have a defrost thermostat, which is essentially an unnecessary feature and can be disabled. In this video, you saw the consequences of having cockroaches in your home: these critters crawled under the thermostat contacts and simply prevented the motor from turning on. Ultimately, we didn't need to replace the thermostat; we only had to blow out the thermostat and put everything back in place. This happens quite often, not only with older refrigerators but also with newer models.
