The first thing that you should know about the King Cobra is that this snake is long. In fact, out of all the venomous snakes in the entire world.
The King Cobra is the longest. The normal adult length for this creature is between 10 to 13 feet.
Despite being called a cobra, the King Cobra is actually not related genetically to other cobra’s but is in a league of its own, being to sole occupant of the genus known as “Ophiophagus” The genetic makeup of this snake suggests that they are more closely related to the Mamba Snakes that to their cobra counterparts.
In addition to being genetically different from the regular cobras, the king cobra has a larger proportioned head as well as a narrower and longer head hood.
The long King Cobra snake can be found living natively throughout the southeast Asian region. China, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines are a few counties where you might encounter this snake.
