Gary Numan/Tubeway Army - Listen to the Sirens (Cover)
This a revised version of a previous upload. I fixed some highhat issues that were befuddling the feel and brought the snare down some, as well as some other minor mixing changes.
An instrumental cover of Gary Numan and Tubeway Army, "Listen to the Sirens". Vocals are my weakest link, so for now, this stands as sort of a karaoke version.
I had a little trouble matching the sounds of the synths using what I have one hand. I wish I had something a little more "quacky", but as I get better at manipulating the synthesizers, I can just replace the voicing.
The bass is triple tracked using the 4Front Bass Module, Kontakt with Scarbee Red Bass, and the Jupiter-8V you see on screen. I used the Jupiter-8V for the little lead parts and a Mini-Moog for the pads.
Drums were played through Addictive Drums. I haven't found a reason NOT to use Addictive Drums, unless I have a real live drummer on hand. I wrote the drum score beat by beat as I couldn't find any midi files online to simplify my work.
The guitars are double tracked, panned wide, using Native Instruments Guitar Rig Pro 4. I have version 5, but I just think that v4 sounds smoother. I don't even know what version they're up to these days, if it's still available.
Video was captured using OBS Studio via a Twitch Livestream. Although I did do some post production mastering to the audio. It is likely drenched in bass due to the synths, in which case I'll have to remix it and this posting won't last long.
