While employers highly value Penn State graduates, a 2019 nationwide survey of 500 students enrolled in a degree or credential program found that most students feel unprepared for the workforce, despite their formal coursework. STEM faculty found that micro-credentials could enhance the curriculum and help students highlight skills gained in activities outside the classroom. In this session, presenters will describe recent micro-credentialing initiatives designed to help students prepare for their future careers and also demonstrate the Credly badging platform.
