Friday tip—organize the things you use on a daily basis. This will save you HEAPS of time in the long run.
Have you ever observed how much time you waste looking for a kitchen utensil, a specific browser bookmark or trying to find THAT email from someone because you need it NOW?
Next time, stop and pay attention—note how long it takes you to find that thing that you are looking for, multiply that by roughly the number of days or the number of times PER day that you do that same thing. The figure you come up with, will astonish you!
Then think of all the productive things you could have done with that time, working on your business!
Looking for browser bookmarks is a good example. As I posted a little while ago, if you organize your browser bookmarks into folders that contain only the relevant ones for that topic or 'thing you do', you'll save yourself a MOUNTAIN of time.
If you want to read about how to organize Chrome bookmarks, the caption on my Instagram Valentine's Day post explains that.
The other thing that will save you heaps of time, is if you create mail rules to file your emails as they come in. Email rules are a bit personal, some people organize them by companies they deal with, others use contact person's name while others may organize them by topic—it really depends on how you categorize your emails as to how you would set up the rules.
Obviously you wouldn't create rules to deal with EVERY email that comes in, but for the important ones it would be helpful. I use a number of different categorizations and then I also number the folders so that they sit in the order that I want them to sit in.
The other thing I still need to organize are the accounts on my Google Authenticator app. I imported all the accounts onto a new phone recently and managed to duplicate most of them! 😩 A job I will be tackling soon as I use the authenticator EVERY DAY!
If you need help getting these things organized, please get in touch!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Big hugs
