Take a deep dive into the sound design and mix process for LOUD. We will give tips and tools on how to score so as to drive a story forward instead of distracting from it. Learn ways to think of music and sound effects as characters to make an immersive sound listening experience.

LOUD: The History of Reggaeton is the true story of the young people from Jamaica, Panama, Puerto Rico and beyond who beat the odds, refused to be quiet and created an irresistible musical culture that has kept the world dancing. Stephanie Lebow is a Peabody award winning Sound Designer & Engineer based in NYC. Her experience with vivid narrative audio, music, video and radio production, has given her a unique ear for audio storytelling. As the Supervising Senior Engineer at Futuro Media & Futuro Studios, she has worked on projects such as Latino USA, Loud: The History Of Reggaeton, Suave, Norco 80, La Brega, In The Thick, Translash, Anything for Selena, Brown Love, and The Battle of 187.
Jeanne Montalvo is a Grammy-nominated audio engineer and radio producer. In 2017, she was nominated for a Grammy as Mastering Engineer for Vladimir Horowitz: The Unreleased Live Recordings, and her recording of Multiverse by Bobby Sanabria's Latin Jazz Big Band was nominated for Best Latin Jazz Album at the 2012 Grammys. She has worked with Spike Lee, Al Kooper, Ivy Queen, Making Movies with Ruben Blades, and more.
She broke into radio after receiving her Masters in Music Technology from NYU, and has worked for National Public Radio, Bloomberg Radio, the Duolingo podcast and projects for the New York Times and Sony. She also sound designed and produced the critically-acclaimed Loud podcast from Futuro and Spotify Studios. She is the creator of "Live from Latino USA" a live video series that features Latinx talent from Jessie Reyez to Jose Feliciano.
