Join us for a panel about Audiobook /Spoken Word Recording with industry experts Erica Glyn (Simon and Schuster) who is also moderating the panel, Richie Romaniello (Penguin) and Timothy Warner (Audible).
We’ll take a look at some of the tips, tricks and techniques involved, as well as their work flow and how they got started in the field and offer advice for those interested in learning about this field.
Erica Glyn has been producing / directing /recording /editing /mixing and mastering audiobooks since 2000 for a variety of publishers but working mostly for Simon and Schuster Audio. Over the years, she has worked with notable personalities from Hillary Clinton to Clive Davis to Mark Ruffalo, to name a few. A number of these projects have been awarded Audie Awards as well as Grammy nominations. Also a musician/singer/composer, she began her career working with Grammy nominated producer/engineer Bob Power, on albums by India.Arie, Ozomatli, Citizen Cope and Meshell Ndegeocello among others.
She is a board member of Gender Amplified which is a non-profit organization that aims to celebrate women in music production, raise their visibility and develop a pipeline for girls and young women to get involved behind the scenes as music producers.
Richie Romaniello has been a recording engineer & producer of audiobooks since 1985. The senior Recording Engineer & Producer at Caedmon Records / Harper Audio from 1985 - 2009 and currently an audio engineer at Penguin Random House Audio since 2011.
Richie has recorded, edited and/or mixed/mastered more than two thousand audiobooks, thirteen have been nominated for Grammys®.
Timothy Warner is a Senior Production Manager for Audible Studios. Tim oversees production networks for audiobooks and non-book audio content in several market segments globally, especially in emerging areas. Tim has worked an as engineer and director on number of projects, including a few Audie winners, and owned an VO production studio in NYC before joining Audible. Tim has traveled to nearly 80 countries and consumes roughly 15 hours of spoken content a week, usually combining the two.
