AES NY Section presents Music Publishing and the Music Modernization Act featuring Linda Lorence Critellili, Scott Rubin & Chris Horvath moderated by Angela Piva.
Linda Lorence Critelli is an accomplished music executive. She is a former VP of Writer/Publisher Relations for SESAC in NYC, and recently served as president of the NY Chapter of the Recording Academy. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Rider University in NJ where she teaches in the newly developed Arts & Entertainment Industries Management program.
Linda is a music industry consultant advising clients on current issues in the music industry and has also taught at NYU's Clive Davis School of Recorded Music, is a former president of Women in Music and a board member of the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. She is the co-founder of NYC3, an organization committed to education and networking in New York's independent music publishing community and was recently elected to serve on the NY Chapter board of governors of the Recording Academy.
She lives in Northern NJ with her husband and 12 year old son.
Scott Rubin has over 30 years experience within the music industry with a primary focus on music publishing. He's been with Reach Music Publishing since 1999 and has worked with artists such as Ice T, Public Enemy, Nate Dogg, Fat Joe, and Pete Rock.
In addition to music publishing, Scott has been around recording studios and music production starting from an early age. He's written articles in music trade mags and websites including Billboard, DJ Times, Musician and American Songwriter. Scott often speaks at music industry events and has hosted panels on most subjects within the
music business. He lives in New Jersey though he's been a life long NYer, having spent all 51 of his glorious years on this planet in the metro NY/NJ area.
Chris Horvath has been a music creator for over 30 years; songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, musician, and just about anything that has to do with the creation of music for albums, live, film/tv, and other modern media.
Artists Chris has worked with include Venice, Michael McDonald, Jackson Browne, Billy Idol, David Crosby, Brian McKnight, Coolio, Kenny Loggins, Jack Johnson, Trevor Hall, The Gigolo Aunts, Ray Charles, Rock Of Ages, and more.
He has written and produced music for Grey’s Anatomy, SCRUBS, Alias, Digimon, The Tonight Show, America’s Got Talent, Casual, Wife Swap, Unconscious, All I Wish, Entertainment Tonight, Ellen Degeneres, Erin Brockovitch, and many more.
Since around 1992, Chris has been the owner and Creative Director of Jamnation Music, a boutique music company in LA offering the best in independent music creation and licensing.
