When you’re stressed out and find yourself holding your breath, is that bad? Are you oxygen deprived? Almost always, the answer is no.
Holding your breath can be an instinctive way to help you soothe and calm anxiety. If you were to measure your blood oxygen levels with an oximeter, it would likely show a normal, "full tank" of 95-99% oxygen saturation.
Brief periods of breath-holding would not significantly change that. In fact, it can even be a helpful self-soothing technique you can use consciously to “pause” and slow down your respiration.
