In this video different types of resistors their construction, working, and uses have been explained,

How many types of resistors are there?
Resistors are available in different shapes and sizes. Common types that are available are through-hole and surface mount. The different types of resistors have different properties and used in various applications.
There are two basic types of resistors:
1)Linear resistors, 2)Non-linear resistors.

1)Linear resistors: Linear resistors are those in which their current value is directly proportional to the applied voltage, Their V-I characteristic curve is a straight line or linear.
Linear resistors are further classified into
1) Fixed resistors and 2) Variable resistors
Fixed resistors: a)Carbon composition resistors, b)Wire wound resistors, c)Thick film resistors and d)Thin film resistors.
Variable resistors: a)Potentiometer, b)Rheostat, c)Trimmer resistor

2)Nonlinear resistors: Nonlinear resistors are those resistors whose current does not change linearly with changes in applied voltage. The variations in current and voltage values depend upon other factors like temperature and light does not change according to Ohms law.
Nonlinear resistors are further classified into
a)Thermistor, b)Photoresistor (LDR), c)Varistor (VDR).
